Crystal coast shells serve as a continual reminder to me that the sea is just a block away.

And today that reminder is much needed and welcome for I am home in bed sick with the flu this weekend. It began Tuesday night. Wednesday afternoon I was actually hopeful I might escape. Wednesday night it hit with a vengeance.

The irony is:

  • I haven’t been this sick in over five years.
  • Last month was the first time I’ve ever gotten a flu shot.
  • February will be my busiest month in a while.

Those of you that live on the coast can attest there is something different here; something magical and wonderful. Even something as miserable as the flu takes on a different hue when you’re this close to the salt water and sand and shells.

These shells bracket my porch and serve as a constant reminder that in less than 100 yards I can be in the water, at Blackbeard’s Beaufort headquarters, or on Carrot Island with wild horses descended from Spanish mustangs of the earliest explorers of Colonial America.

I also keep shells inside; on counters, nightstands, and as door stops. As Isak Dinesen wrote, “The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea.”

So while I recuperate (hopefully) in bed this weekend, I hope those of you planning a 2016 engagement, wedding, or family event will consider the Crystal Coast shells as a backdrop. The golden sands and emerald waters of the Crystal Coast create the perfect backdrop for photographing your special day. With beautiful coastal sunsets, sailboats, beach bikes, and centuries of history, we know you’ll fall in love here as quickly as we did. It really is the perfect engagement and wedding destination.

So please contact Beaufort Photography Co. and let us help you choreograph, celebrate, and capture your most special of days (but don’t call this weekend as I’m home in bed sick with the flu 🙂
