Several years ago I managed to get a west coast Christmas song stuck in my head. For months. Really, it was just a single line from the chorus, “Here’s to wishes that will never come true.” There are a lot of things that fall into that category. Things you wish for – dreams, hopes, prayers, imaginings, aspirations, expectations, plans, wants, anticipations, ambitions, needs. The list is rather endless.

One of mine is I will never fly a Boeing 314 Clipper seaplane. Because the twelve they built no longer exist. And because I am not a pilot. And because I don’t work for Pan Am. And because Pan Am no longer exists. And because of about a hundred other reasons as if these first four weren’t sufficient.

But a couple of weeks ago we were privileged to choreograph Brittany & Scott’s vintage aviator engagement session at Fort Macon. Though the winds were blowing about 25 knots, we just pretended it was from he props of the planes somewhere on the tarmac.

Fort Macon provided the perfect backdrop for our vintage aviator engagement shoot.  And, of course, the American flag blowing in the sea breeze.

Top Gun

Gorgeous in her vintage style black and white rockabilly dress, Brittany could easily have been stepping out of a 1950s pin-up poster. And as for Scott in his aviator bomber jacket, all we can say is eat your heart out Top Gun’s Tom Cruise.

And as far as engagement photos go, it doesn’t get any better than sunset on the beach.
