We hate saying this
We hate saying this. It’s the worst part of our week. The five worst words we have to say on any given day are, “I’m sorry, we’re already booked.” We hate, hate, hate saying these words to a bride!
Don’t delay, book today!
Hardly a week goes by when we’re not having to say those words we hate saying so much. For this reason alone, it’s never too early to book your wedding photographer. In fact, we believe the day you set a date you should also be on the phone with your photographer. Or better yet, check with your photographer of choice before you even set your date to see if they’re available.
At Beaufort Photography Co. we book no more than one wedding per day. According to a recent survey by The Knot, almost 72% of couples choose to get married on a Saturday. And there are only 52 Saturdays in a year. You do the math. With most couples wanting to marry in the October, June, April, or September, the number of Saturdays shrinks exponentially.
Keep in mind these three things
Below are three things a bride should keep in mind regarding her wedding photography.
First, we recommend a bride book her wedding photographer 6-18 months in advance. The earlier you book, the more likely you’ll get your wedding photographer of choice. For this reason, we keep our reservation book three years out. If you called us today and your date was available, we would book your wedding as far out as 2021.
Second, keep in mind that you don’t have to be married on a Saturday. There are six other great days of the week from which to choose! While Saturday weddings are most popular (72%), Friday (13%) and Sunday (11%) weddings can be a perfect choice for brides, as well. Choosing a Friday or Sunday wedding date triples your potential wedding dates. Also, many wedding venues offer a discount for non-Saturday weddings.
Third, we’re seeing an increasing number of brides book their wedding photographer at the same time they set their wedding date, or even before. We can’t count the number of times a bride sets her wedding date in stone prior to booking her photographer. Just last month we had to refer a bride to another photographer because she had already ordered her wedding invitations for a certain date. We were available the day before and the day after her date but because her date was set in stone we won’t be able to photograph her special day. Settling for your second choice always feels second best.
While a compliment when we hear a bride wish she had chosen Beaufort Photography Co. as her wedding photographer, it’s still bittersweet. With just a little pre-planning, it’s within a bride’s power to choose Beaufort Photography Co. as her wedding photographer. Book early, be flexible, and involve your wedding photographer in your wedding plans at the outset.
