Some weddings can become extremely extravagant and complex affairs. Lots of people, lots of pageantry, lots of preciseness. So when a simple Beaufort backyard wedding happens along, it can be a breath of fresh air. Vanessa and Jeff’s Beaufort backyard wedding was that breath of fresh air this wedding season!

Beaufort Photography Co. had the pleasure of photographing Vanessa and Jeff’s engagement earlier this year. And we started their most special day with photos of Vanessa and her Maid of Honor at The Bask Hotel in downtown Morehead City. The backdrop of the Harbor Channel reminded us why we call the Crystal Coast home. And why so many brides choose it for their special day. Capturing images on the Morehead City docks resulted in lots of stares, thumbs up, and whistles. At Vanessa, not us. And deservedly so!

A storybook land

Arriving to Vanessa and Jeff’s backyard was like stepping into a storybook land. Complete with fresh flowers, flickering lights, fabulous food, friends, and family, the party was just beginning. There’s something special about the familiar that breeds comfort and carefree calm.

The reception and party were the icing on the cake for Vanessa and Jeff’s Beaufort backyard wedding. The month before, they buried a bottle of bourbon in the backyard to ensure their special day was rain free. So digging up the bourbon and enjoying a shot was the perfect ending to a perfect wedding day.
